Here are five places to try it in Suffolk County.

Tang Dynasty, 846 Portion Road, Ronkonkoma: A Google poster, Alli Ruggi, calls it "my sushi obsession place. So good. Great price. Definitely worth the try."

"OMG you have to come here! So much yummy food, all you can eat! Order off a menu-sushi, traditional Chinese dishes, apps, seaweed salad, dessert. We pigged out for 20 bucks," says a recent review, also on Google.

Onsen Sushi, 597 Montauk Highway, Oakdale: This hidden gem in an ordinary strip mall would be easy to drive past but don't. Reviewers talk about exotic and creative sushi, sashimi and specials.

It's a favorite of Elizabeth Byrne and  "worth the drive to Oakdale" a Facebook comment said.

"This is some of the best sushi I have had in a while." The post goes on to describe "a very quaint space" and "nice" staff, says a Yelp review.

Sam’s Sushi Bistro, 654 Horseblock Road, Farmingville:  "Absolutely the best sushi I’ve had," a Facebook reviewer posted.

"Great food. Great experience. Food was fresh an beautifully presented," another post says.

Kotobuki, 377 Smithtown Byp., Hauppauge: "Been eating here for 17 yrs. Best sushi for the money bar none. We eat in high-end restaurants all over the world and Kotobuki is worth driving 45 (minutes) for. Their ginger dressing compares to none and the fried green tea ice cream rocks," a reviewer said on Facebook.

"For us, this is by far the best sushi we’ve had in Long Island. The food quality is always delicious and fresh. The service is terrific and always with a smile," another recent post says.

Umami Sushi & Bar, 1957 Middle Country Road, Centereach: Posts online talk about the all you can eat menu, though you can order a la carte here, and most love the iPad service menu where you can add to your order in a touch.

"Fresh, generous portions and ordering off the menu tablets was so easy, with descriptions of everything available by clicking on it. Definitely, want to go back and try some of their other rolls and sashimi."’

"I am never going to another sushi restaurant again! This is my new favorite place," raved a reviewer on Google. "Everything was so fresh and everyone was down to Earth."
